It's about time the dems send one of their own to the dogs. That party is so rife with corruption and cover up that as long as you kiss the ass of the elders, they won't send yours up the river. Illinois democrat governor rod blagojevich just found out what it means to step really far out and piss off the president elect by offering his former senate seat to the highest bidder.

With obama denying that he ever spoke with the governor's office about his vacant senate seat, one wonders who he did talk to, as it is the governor who makes the appointments to fill vacancies and it is known that obama had already made a suggestion as to who he wanted to fill his vacant seat. Then, when the proverbial crap hit the fan, about his former seat being put up for auction, he deftly withdrew his nominee, literally within hours before the news broke. There can be only one reason the current chain of events would have led obama to sidestep the issue and withdraw his nominee - he did in fact talk to the governor to make his suggestion and due to the graft and corruption in that governor's office, the FBI would have been investigating. To avoid controversy and a compromising situation, he had to run and hide for fear of being named in the conspiracy surrounding the high profile, illegal activities, of one of his own. When in doubt - deny, deny, deny and with that he sent blagojevich to the dogs, dick turbin to do some damage control and his hand picked nominee back to the slums. This, my friends, is what you voted for - a guy who can't do his own leg work and who will turn on his own in order to keep his own skinny little ass out of the hopper.

One also has to wonder why the chain of events took the turn they did. One, the sacrifice of blagojevich was sudden and unexpected (maybe not so unexpected). Two, turbin stepped in and told blagojevich not to make any appointments to obama's vacant senate seat. Three, the US attorney for Illinois says there was an ongoing investigation into the graft and corruption in the Illinois governors office and instead of letting it play it's hand out and grab others who may be involved, they cut it off short with the public announcement of the arrest of blagojevich. I'm no genius, but to me, this much has become very clear - with the speed of the arrest, the damage control by turbin and cutting off an ongoing investigation (makes it kind of difficult to make any more arrests and you just know blagojevich wasn't acting alone) the dems are trying to protect somebody higher up the chain of command. There can be only one person they are trying to protect and it is no stretch of the imagination who that would be.

This is the kind of stuff the American media is missing out on and good riddance to them anyhow. Reader Hunter Schultz alerts us to a wonderful - just wonderful -
article by a French soldier serving close to American troops in
Afghanistan. Hunter got this from his friend, Renee Nielsen, in Mumbai,
India, which shows the power of the internet to bring us material that
we'll never see in the mainstream media.

Some things should not be condensed. Herewith, the whole piece, at
times a bit awkwardly translated, but highly recommended:

"We have shared our daily life with two US units for quite a while -
they are the first and fourth companies of a prestigious infantry
battalion whose name I will withhold for the sake of military secrecy.
To the common man it is a unit just like any other. But we live with
them and got to know them, and we henceforth know that we have the honor
to live with one of the most renowned units of the US Army - one that
the movies brought to the public as series showing "ordinary soldiers
thrust into extraordinary events". Who are they, those soldiers from
abroad, how is their daily life, and what support do they bring to the
men of our OMLT every day ? Few of them belong to the Easy Company, the
one the TV series focuses on. This one nowadays is named Echo Company,
and it has become the support company.

They have a terribly strong American accent - from our point of view the
language they speak is not even English. How many times did I have to
write down what I wanted to say rather than waste precious minutes
trying various pronunciations of a seemingly common word? Whatever state
they are from, no two accents are alike and they even admit that in some
crisis situations they have difficulties understanding each other.

Heavily built, fed at the earliest age with Gatorade, proteins and
creatine - they are all heads and shoulders taller than us and their
muscles remind us of Rambo. Our frames are amusingly skinny to them - we
are wimps, even the strongest of us - and because of that they often
mistake us for Afghans.

Here we discover America as it is often depicted : their values are
taken to their paroxysm, often amplified by promiscuity, lack of privacy
and the loneliness of this outpost in the middle of that Afghan valley.
Honor, motherland - everything here reminds of that : the American flag
floating in the wind above the outpost, just like the one on the post
parcels. Even if recruits often originate from the hearth of American
cities and gang territory, no one here has any goal other than to hold
high and proud the star spangled banner. Each man knows he can count on
the support of a whole people who provides them through the mail all
that an American could miss in such a remote front-line location :
books, chewing gums, razorblades, Gatorade, toothpaste etc. in such way
that every man is aware of how much the American people backs him in his
difficult mission. And that is a first shock to our preconceptions : the
American soldier is no individualist. The team, the group, the combat
team are the focus of all his attention.

And they are impressive warriors! We have not come across bad ones, as
strange at it may seem to you when you know how critical French people
can be. Even if some of them are a bit on the heavy side, all of them
provide us everyday with lessons in infantry know-how. Beyond the
wearing of a combat kit that never seem to discomfort them (helmet
strap, helmet, combat goggles, rifles etc.) the long hours of watch at
the outpost never seem to annoy them in the slightest. On the one square
meter wooden tower above the perimeter wall they stand the five
consecutive hours in full battle rattle and night vision goggles on top,
their sight unmoving in the directions of likely danger. No
distractions, no pauses, they are like statues nights and days. At
night, all movements are performed in the dark - only a handful of
subdued red lights indicate the occasional presence of a soldier on the
move. Same with the vehicles whose lights are covered - everything
happens in pitch dark even filling the fuel tanks with the Japy pump.

And combat ? If you have seen Rambo you have seen it all - always coming
to the rescue when one of our teams gets in trouble, and always in the
shortest delay. That is one of their tricks : they switch from T-shirt
and sandals to combat ready in three minutes. Arriving in contact with
the enemy, the way they fight is simple and disconcerting : they just
charge! They disembark and assault in stride, they bomb first and ask
questions later.

We seldom hear any harsh word, and from 5 AM onwards the camp chores are
performed in beautiful order and always with excellent spirit. A passing
American helicopter stops near a stranded vehicle just to check that
everything is alright; an American combat team will rush to support ours
before even knowing how dangerous the mission is - from what we have
been given to witness, the American soldier is a beautiful and worthy
heir to those who liberated France and Europe.

To those who bestow us with the honor of sharing their combat outposts
and who everyday give proof of their military excellence, to those who
pay the daily tribute of America's army's deployment on Afghan soil, to
those we owe this article, ourselves hoping that we will always remain
worthy of them and to always continue hearing them say that we are all
the same band of brothers."

It is inspiring to read things like that. I wish I could read those
words in The New York Times or The Washington Post. Maybe - miracles
occur - I will some day. But let us be grateful to the French soldier
who paid such a warm tribute to our soldiers

  Very interesting indeed and I sincerely hope that you will all take the time to read this very carefully! It seems that the dems, the far-left idiots and the drive-by media owe President Bush a BIG apology for calling him a liar. The truth comes out. President Bush and the Brits were right about Hussein's nuclear energy desires. Let's see how many of you, who voted for obama, can come up with the guts to say "I was wrong, Bush was right". Fat chance! But, we all know that obama and all his buddies and the media did lie throughout his entire campaign for president and, further, he continues to lie to this day. No apology will be forthcoming from me for having said that either. Simply put, obama is not presidential material! Nor is biden, clinton or any of the rest of the dems for that matter - they all lie to cover their own ass (to wit, the financial meltdown crisis) and to force upon you what they deem to be in your best interests! Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame also need to apologize to Bush and the American people for their lies and deceit to paint Bush as a war monger. Their stories were not believable from the beginning, and, they too, are democrats.

FYI: 550 metric tons is about 1,230,000 pounds of yellocake uranium Hussein could have refined even further into nuclear weapons grade material. You need to thank God that Bush got to Hussein before he had the chance to refine and develop it. The Canadians have a much better use for it now. Had our demagogue Congress and the environmentalists, who stand in the way of the US developing Nuclear Power, seen the light years ago and got out of our way, we would have had a very good use for it now, too. Be careful who you vote for! You pay the ultimate price for their stupidity and stupidity is contagious.

I have a renewed respect for President Bush. He has taken the heat of being called a liar and a war monger for 5 years while he kept his silence to protect the people of the world. This is truly a display of selfless honor.

On July 5, 2008, the Associated Press (AP) released a story titled: Secret U.S. mission hauls uranium from Iraq.

The opening paragraph is as follows:

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

See anything wrong with this picture? We have been hearing from the far-left for more than five years, how Bush lied. Somehow, that slogan loses its credibility now that 550 metric tons of Saddam's yellowcake, used for nuclear weapon enrichment, has been discovered and shipped to Canada for its new use as nuclear energy.

It appears that American troops found the 550 metric tons of uranium in 2003 after invading Iraq. They had to sit on this information and the uranium itself, for fear of terrorists attempting to steal it. It was guarded and kept safe by our military in a 23,000-acre site with large sand berms surrounding the site.

This is vindication for the Bush administration, having been attacked mercilessly by the liberal media and the far-left pundits on the blogosphere. Now that it is proven that President Bush did not lie about Saddam's nuclear ambitions, one would think the mainstream media would report the story. Once the AP released the story, the mainstream media should have picked it up and broadcast it worldwide.

This never happened, due in large part I believe, to the fact that the mainstream media would have to admit they were wrong about Bush's war motives all along. Thankfully, the AP got it right when it said, The removal of 550 metric tons of yellowcake, the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment, was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy.

Closing the book on Saddam's nuclear legacy. Did Saddam have a nuclear legacy after all? I thought Bush lied. As it turns out, the people who lied were Joe Wilson and his wife.

Valerie Plame engaged in a clear case of nepotism and convinced the CIA to send her husband on a fact finding mission in February 2002, seeking to determine if Saddam Hussein attempted to buy yellowcake from Niger. The CIA and British intelligence believed Saddam contacted Niger for that purpose but needed proof.

During his trip to Niger, Wilson actually interviewed the former prime minister of Niger, Ibrahim Assane Mayaki. Mayaki told Wilson that in June of 1999, an Iraqi delegation expressed interest in 'expanding commercial relations' for the purposes of purchasing yellowcake.

Wilson chose to overlook Mayaki's remarks and reported to the CIA that there was no evidence of Hussein wanting to purchase yellowcake from Niger.

However, with British intelligence insisting the claim was true, President Bush used that same claim in his State of the Union address in January of 2003.

Outraged by Bush's insistence that the claim was true, Wilson wrote an op-ed in the New York Times in the summer of 2003 slamming Bush.

Wilson did this in spite of the fact that Mayaki said Saddam did try to buy the yellowcake from Niger. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence disagreed with Wilson and supported Mayaki's claim. This meant nothing to Wilson who was opposed to the Iraq war and thus had ulterior motives in covering up the prime minister's statements.

It was a simple tactic really. If the far-left and their friends in the media could prove Bush lied about Hussein wanting to purchase yellowcake from Niger, it would undermine President Bush's credibility and give them more cause for asking what other lies he may have told.

Yet, the real lie came from Wilson, who interpreted his own meaning from the prime minister's statements and concluded all by himself that the claim of Saddam attempting to purchase yellowcake was 'unequivocally wrong.' Curiously, the CIA sat on this information and did not inform the CIA Director, who sided with Bush on the yellowcake claim. This was made public in a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report in July 2004.

Valerie Plame also engaged in her own lie campaign by spreading the notion that the Bush administration outed her as a CIA agent. Never mind that it was Richard Armitage - no friend of the Bush administration - who leaked Plame's identity to the press. Never mind that Plame had not been in the field as a CIA agent in some six years.

The truth is, due to their opposition to the war, Joe Wilson, Valerie Plame, the mainstream media and their left-wing friends on the blogosphere engaged in a propaganda campaign to undermine the Bush administration. Now that Saddam's uranium has been made public and is no longer a threat to the world, do you think these aforementioned parties will apologize and admit they were wrong? Don't count on it. The rest of the American people should hear the truth about Saddam's uranium. It is up to you and me to inform them every chance we get.

As far as the anti-war crowd is concerned, the next time they say that, 'Bush lied,' we should tell them to, 'Have your yellowcake and eat it too.'

Well! He's not even sworn in yet but obama is causing a financial meltdown of national (and maybe even international) proportions already. Thanks to barney franks and christopher dudd, and all the other congressional dems on that particular bandwagon, telling the nation and the world that Fannie and Freddie were not in trouble, as little as three years ago, and three years later declaring them to be a financial embarrasment of global proportions in order to get obama elected, we now have anybody, and everybody, trying their damndest to get bailout money for their own, personal, financial irresponsibilities. Auto manufacturers, city governments, state governments, banks, insurance companies, and who knows where the list will end, are all asking the government to hand them money, that they couldn't manage in the first place, so they will now have even more money to mis-manage in their corrupt and irresponsible empires. I'm just waiting for some damn foreign nation coming to the new administration and asking for their bailout handout. According to obama, it is now a virtue to share the wealth, especially with those who do absolutely nothing to earn it.

That is pure, unadulterated BS. I have had to work hard my whole life (I started contributing to the system at age 10) for what meager earnings I now get out of retirement and Social Security, and with prices rising and taxes being too high as they are, my hard earned dollars (remember, I put money into the system), and now my investments, are dwindling at a rapid pace. And obama hasn't even taken office yet! When obama's tax hikes hit (remember, that bailout money has to come from somewhere), my, and your, hard earned dollars are going to disappear at an even more rapid rate. Add to this the impending increases in social programs (i.e., communist programs) and expenses, illegal immigrants being handed freebies just for showing up on our doorstep, ACORN being given millions for their voter fraud programs, the ACLU being funded by Congress to take your rights away, Congressional dems raking in their share of all these handouts through kickbacks (remember william jefferson?), greedy corporate execs being able to hang on to their golden parachutes and excessive remunerations (which by the way will come out of any bailout money they receive), rising prices of commodities - just because... and the list will go on. My question to you is - where will it all end?

As I see it, this problem precipitated in several ways. First, Fannie and Freddie are government sponsored programs - a recipe for disaster if I ever saw one. Second, franks, dudd, pelosi, reid, schemer, rangle, boxer, clinton, and all the other far left libs in congress turned their backs on an impending meltdown. They were warned but chose to ignore it. Third, obama dropped his hat into the ring and all the far left congressional dems got on the bandwagon to not just get him elected but to reap any rewards for helping out. Most of those rewards will be financial and will be coming out of your pocket. Fourth, the meltdown was finally announced, after many years of democrat denial and efforts by McCain and Bush to avoid it, simply to get obama elected since the dems could now blame it on failures of the present administration. That was a big, red flag right there. Fifth, those of you who voted for obama, bought the meltdown hook, line and sinker. Those of you who didn't vote, played right into the hands of the congressional democrats and the drive-by media, who claimed the election was all but over. There were at least 4 million non-voters, who, if they ever had a brain in their head, would have come out of hiding and voted for McCain, instead of staying home, and he would now be our President elect, instead of obama, who is the reason behind all these woes, that will now cost all of us money and freedoms, including, you, the obama supporters.

Don't even think for one minute you are going to come out of this untouched. Socialism (a nice name for communism) is going to take everything you have. With obama's plans now going to flower, eventually the government will take all your money (just remember how the USSR and China functioned), pay all the big government expenses first (handouts, bailouts, non-functional social programs, organizations that are waiting in the wings to take your liberties and freedoms away etc...) and give you what is left with no possibility of a bailout when you start to go under. And what is left won't be much because all the deadbeats of society, those that won't or don't work, will be waiting to receive an equal share. Prosperity to poverty is waiting for all of us just around the corner. To answer the question of where this will all end, just Google "totalitarianism". Obama and all the far left libs are eagerly awaiting to take your freedoms and money away and then to spend it frivously. The last thing you ever want to do is to give money to a democrat politician. They simply don't know how to handle it!

Wednesday, November 5, 2008   For those of you who voted against Obama, and socialism, thank you very much. I know that you treasure your Constitutional rights and freedoms as much as I do.

For those of you who voted for Obama, thanks for nothing, because that is just what we are going to get out of this inexperienced, naive, inept, racist inciting, terrorist loving, "present" voting, baby killing, far left liberal who is just waiting in the wings, now, to start taking your Constitutional Rights away one by one. Actually, that is quite something, as the ACLU (a Communist organization) has been trying to take them away for over 70 years now and Obama and his ilk are going to make it all the easier for them to do it. Congress is going to start cutting deals behind closed doors, with the ACLU, ACORN and liberal judges, and then jam them down your throat much as the far left "regressive" liberals here in Madison do when they think you are not paying attention. Smoking and plastic bag bans are just the beginning. With bigger fish to fry, can you imagine our local elected officials wasting their time on such nonsense? Well, with bigger government on the horizon, now, that's going to appear petty and insignificant, by comparison, to what Congress is going to be up to!

If you are thinking that your taxes are now going to go down, think again. Even if your taxes don't go up, raising the taxes on the top 5% of income earners is going to "trickle down" (there's that Clintonesque term again) to us as we pay higher prices for the commodities and services they provide for us. Just wait, the price of gas is now going to start going up slowly again, as Obama wants it to, 'til it reaches his hallmark price of $4.00 a gallon and more. He just doesn't want you driving so much, even if your tires are rock hard. And, by the way, don't forget to take your tire gauge along when you fill up. According to Obama, it's the miracle tool of the future for America to become energy independent.

There are several sources of energy that can be developed and employed in this country to help keep energy costs down, and to help make us energy independent, but thanks to your vote, they are now off the table again. Obama is on record that he is going to bankrupt the coal industry even tho, with the newest technologies, it can be made to burn clean and reduce green house gases. Nuclear power (the cleanest of all our energy sources) is off the table and off-shore drilling is not going to happen. The Dems removing the ban on any oil exploration or drilling was just a ploy in the hopes that Obama would win and they then would not have to deal with the likes of America becoming energy independent - ever - even though that was one of their main talking points throughout their lying and deceitful campaign.

Solar and wind power are not going to be infused with federal dollars as Obama's plans are to "re-distribute the wealth" from "hard working people" to those who are too damn lazy to work, and federal dollars will now be spent on more of their frivolous, inept, non-working, socialistic (communistic for all that matter) government programs designed to keep illegals, minorities, and others too damn lazy to work, on the system. Why, you ask? Because that is the source of the Democrat power trip - those who won't or don't work and wish to live off those who do, rally behind the Dems and are rewarded with your hard earned dollars for not lifting a finger to support the systems they rape and pillage for a handout. As a life long, hard working, Social Security paying, now retired person, I strongly object to illegals and lazy asses from dipping into my funds for a freebie just because the Dems bought their votes and said it was OK for them not to support the very systems they continue to steal from.

Not only that, but the enclosed link, tells a more grotesque story of how people are viewing what Obama has told them. I say that Obama has told them so, because nobody in their right mind would grasp the concept of the government paying for mortgages and fill-ups at the watering hole, unless it was said in so many words that even a moron couldn't miss it. Call me a sore loser if you will, but your Obama vote has just made America a country of losers - taxes will go up, Social Security benefits will go down, our military will get weaker, government will get bigger and uglier, we will become much more subject to terrorist attacks, more illegals are going to show up, medical accessibility will get worse, Constitutional rights will start to disappear, the Fannies and Freddies of corporate America will thrive, crooked CEO's and politicians will continue to bail out with their golden parachutes, your stock investments will continue to dwindle as the government and crooks (one and the same in most cases) manipulate the stock market. Who's going to pay for all this?

I have said it before that the only way Obama could win this thing is through fraud and voter intimidation. Thanks to ACORN, Congressional Dems and racially motivated groups actually intimidating the voters, I have been proven right. And I sure hope you now all have that touchy-feely, feel good attitude about yourself and your soul is now cleansed of all the atrocities committed by our forefathers and bigotry of the past. As for me, that is their sin, not mine. I refuse to be intimidated by the bitter minorities clinging to their hatred and contempt. As long as they cling to that hatred and contempt, there will be no progress in race relations in the future. And Jackson and Sharpton and now Obama will make sure of that. Had you investigated Obama as I have, I'm sure your vote would have been different!

All that Bush Bashing of the past, is now going to be the Obama Bashing of the future and I am not going to let it pass. Obama and his clan had damn well better run a spotless Administration, so I have no material to write about.

As a business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama will be our next President and that my taxes and fees will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that our customers will have to see an increase in my fees of about 8%. I will also have to lay off six of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are family here and didn't know how to choose who will have to go. So, this is what I did. I strolled through the parking lot and found eight Obama bumper stickers on my employees' cars. I have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off.

I can't think of more fair way to approach this problem. If you have a better idea, let me know.

  The article in the link below is from a Democrat, now working on the McCain campaign due to McCain's pick of Sarah Palin as his running mate. In it, she points out that Sarah Palin is not a dummy but somebody who is "very smart"! Just how amazing could this be that the Republicans picked somebody for VP, who has some brains, unlike the Democrats choice of Biden who has none. I didn't need for somebody to tell me that Sarah has some brains. I was immediately impressed with her and how she handled herself from the moment when McCain announced her as his running mate, and how she continues to handle herself on the campaign trail today. Contrast that with how Biden the Buffoon handles himself when he's allowed on the campaign trail. He's more "gaffes" than a barrel of monkeys. Obama and his camp have lied repeatedly to cover up Obama's nefarious alliances with characters of ill repute. The link below leads to yet another example of his severe lack of good judgment in picking his friends. And to make it worse, the drive-by media is more than willing to help him keep it under wraps and to even lie for him in order to do so. Can we trust this individual, who has so many ugly friends with a past to be covered up, as President? Certainly not! America is not for sale to the highest bidder as many of the Democrat leaders and politicians are. Do you really want "More of the Same", as Obama is calling McCain's campaign, or is it OK for Obama to give us "More of the Same" in obscuring all of his alliances with all sorts of unsavory characters your mother would never approve of. This candidate has put more lids on his past than Mason has jars. How strange that everything about him, his family, his past, his friends, his alliances and his plans are off limits to reasonable, but crucial, scrutiny! Ask yourself this question; How are these alliances going to play out in the world of today if Obama ever makes it to the White House? I shudder to think of the answer, much less the consequences! After you read the article in the enclosed link - read the comments by other readers. They, too, are afraid of the answer. Obama is unfit for the Great Office of the President of the United States.

Friday, October 24, 2008   I suggest you watch the video in the first link all the way thru. It's about 10 minutes long and concerns the eligibility of Obama for the Presidency of the United States. The DNC and other left wing organizations have consitently been in the tank for Obama and are hiding and suppressing not only his birth certificate but other records of concern that have been asked for. Copies of his birth certificates that have appeared on his web site and elsewhere are highly suspicious and fraught with errors. The one pointed out in the video is that the seal on the birth certificate, from Obama's web site, is that it is not from a Hawaiian hospital where Obama says he was born and it is disfigured enough that you can't make it out clearly on the website. A highly suspicious forgery? The other discrepancy I have learned of, is that his father's race is given as "African", on the web site copy, when the designated term, for the era when Obama was born, would have been "Negro". Little discrepancies like this are reason enough for Obama, the DNC and all the other leftist and radical organizations to come clean, produce a certified hard copy of Obama's birth certificate and to clear this matter up, for, and on behalf, of all Americans. You are being duped otherwise and I do not trust the organizations behind Obama to do what is absolutely right on your behalf. John McCain has produced all records asked for, including a certified copy of his birth certificate, and I think Obama needs to do the same. Anything less is criminal and fraudulent. I support Berg, a registered Democrat, for having the fortitude to carry this forth. I am sure that the DNC and other far left organizations are now looking to destroy him as they did with Joe the Plumber. They can't win this thing any other way than dishonestly.

Sarah Palin is the most refreshing thing to hit the political circuit, about as far back as I can remember. No offense, Ron! The drive-by media and the Obama camp have been about as unfair to her as they are to we, the American people, with their unending lies and deceit about their true plans waiting for us if they are victorious. Thursday, October 23, 2008   You may be fearful of guns, hate them, have been the victim of gun bearing thugs, even been the recipient of an accidental shooting or far worse. However, the right to bear arms is a God given, 2nd Amendment, Constitutional right of all legal and law abiding Americans whether you wish to own or operate one or not. The thugs in Illinois, including Obama and Daley and all their supporters, also have a right to their opinions, no matter how stupid they are, and stupid they are. The liberals, which includes the Obama camp, want to start to abolish all of your Constitutional rights with the repeal of the most visible of all your rights - the 2nd Amendment. The letter below is a testimonial to that statement. Obama has voted to not only ban your right to bear arms, but to destroy it. It was an unprecedented vote in that the bills he supported not only wanted to ban your right to bear arms (an unconstitutional law in the first place) but to make you a criminal for protecting yourself against criminals invading your home. Does this sound like a rational solution to the problem with guns i.e., it is the criminal and demented elements of society that cause the problems in the first place? Control them and not legal, law abiding citizens. Laws against gun ownership are in place in every state and municipality in the nation. Simply put, criminals and irrational people convicted of gun crimes cannot own them. These laws need to be strengthened and enforced, not new laws made to ban the sale and use of firearms by legal and law-abiding citizens. Take away your 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms will leave only the criminal element bearing arms, leave you absolutely defenseless in the face of criminal adversity, subjugate you to further government control of your lives and start you down the road to loss of every Constitutional right you have and eventually to the destruction of the Constitution itself. Is this what you are hoping for by electing Obama, a man who lies, cheats, steals and destroys? And every one of those is an attribute of a criminal mind! If you own, or want to own, a gun I suggest you take a gun control class and learn how to shoot straight and to be a responsible gun owner. You're going to need it with Obama in office and the libs in control. As for me, I will cling to my guns and religion. They serve me much better than the low life liberals in government ever will.

Fellow Sportsman,

Hello, my name is Rich Pearson and I have been active in the firearm rights movement for over 40 years. For
the past 15 years, I have served in the Illinois state capitol as the chief lobbyist for the Illinois State Rifle
Association.

I lobbied Barack Obama extensively while he was an Illinois State Senator. As a result of that experience, I
know Obama’s attitudes toward guns and gun owners better than anyone. The truth be told, in all my years in
the Capitol I have never met a legislator who harbors more contempt for the law-abiding firearm owner than
Barack Obama.

Although Obama claims to be an advocate for the 2nd Amendment, his voting record in the Illinois Senate paints
a very different picture. While a state senator, Obama voted for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle,
shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens. That same bill would authorize the state police to raid homes
of gun owners and forcibly confiscate banned guns. Obama supported a bill that would shut down law-abiding
firearm manufacturers including Springfield Armory, Armalite, Rock River Arms and Les Baer. Obama also
voted for a bill that would prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing more than one gun per month.
Without a doubt, Barack Obama has proven himself to be an enemy of the law abiding firearm owner. At the
same time, Obama has proven himself to be a friend to the hardened criminal. While a state senator, Obama
voted 4 times against legislation that would allow a homeowner to use a firearm in defense of home and family.

Does Barack Obama still sound to you like a “friend” of the law-abiding gun owner?

And speaking of friends, you can always tell a person by the company they keep. Obama counts among his
friends the Rev. Michael Pfleger - a renegade Chicago priest who has openly called for the murder of gun shop
owners and pro-gun legislators. Then there is his buddy Richard Daley, the mayor of Chicago who has declared
that if it were up to him, nobody would be allowed to own a gun. And let’s not forget Obama’s pal George
Soros - the guy who has pumped millions of dollars into the UN’s international effort to disarm law-abiding
citizens.

Obama has shown that he is more than willing to use other people’s money to fund his campaign to take your
guns away from you. While a board member of the leftist Joyce Foundation, Barack Obama wrote checks for
tens of millions of dollars to extremist gun control organizations such as the Illinois Council Against Handgun
Violence and the Violence Policy Center.

Does Barack Obama still sound to you like a “friend” of the law-abiding gun owner?

By now, I’m sure that many of you have received mailings from an organization called “American Hunters
and Shooters Association(AHSA)” talking about what a swell fellow Obama is and how he honors the 2nd
Amendment and how you will never have to worry about Obama coming to take your guns. Let me make it
perfectly clear - everything the AHSA says about Obama is pure hogwash. The AHSA is headed by a group
of left-wing elitists who subscribe to the British view of hunting and shooting. That is, a state of affairs where
hunting and shooting are reserved for the wealthy upper-crust who can afford guided hunts on exclusive private
reserves. The AHSA is not your friend, never will be.

In closing, I’d like to remind you that I’m a guy who has actually gone nose to nose with Obama on gun rights
issues. The Obama I know cannot even begin to identify with this nation’s outdoor traditions. The Obama I
know sees you, the law abiding gun owner, as nothing but a low-class lummox who is easily swayed by the
flash of a smile and a ration of rosy rhetoric. The Obama I know is a stony-faced liar who has honed his skill at
getting what he wants - so long as people are willing to give it to him.

That’s the Barack Obama I know.

All this rhetoric about taxes and shipping jobs overseas has Obama in a trance. He can't see the workplace for the tax increases. His ads about McCain giving tax breaks to companies sending jobs overseas is way off base. If he listened to his own rhetoric about raising taxes, he would easily come to the conclusion that his plan is going to force companies overseas for the tax breaks they will receive there. His stupidity is overwhelming! And besides, you can't give a tax break to 95% of Americans when only 70% of them even pay taxes. This is his grand socialistic scheme to give your hard earned dollars to those who won't even work. What happens when we all jump on the bandwagon, give up our jobs, and collect money for not working? Who is going to pay Obama's tab?

I know this is long but please read it to the end. We are supposed to be electing a president with character but I am afraid that one of the candidates, namely Obama, just doesn't fit this description.

"The public cannot be too curious concerning the characters of public men." —Samuel Adams

In his Inaugural Address on 20 January, 1961, President John F. Kennedy closed his remarks with these famous words: "And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."

With those words, JFK, considered by many to be the most exemplary leader of the Democrat Party in the 20th Century, asked Americans to put country first, a bedrock principle of the Party until the last few decades.

However today, the current slate of Democrats have turned Jack Kennedy's national challenge on end, essentially proclaiming, "ask what your country can do for you, not what you can do for your country."

In 1963, Martin Luther King stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and said for all to hear, "I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Has his dream been realized, or have Democrat leaders divided us up into constituency groups, where we are judged by all manner of ethnicity and special interests rather than the individual and national character King envisioned?

Kennedy and King had it right, but the Democrat Party has squandered their great legacy, and betrayed us, moreover enslaving many Americans as dependant wards of the state.

This is not the Democrat Party envisioned by Franklin Delano Roosevelt or Harry Truman, much less its founder, Thomas Jefferson, who would not recognize even the most vestigial elements of his once-noble Party. (This dramatic transition is evident in the Democrat Party Platforms from Kennedy to Obama.)

When asked why he left the Democrat Party, perhaps the most famous of former Democrats said, "I did not leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me." That was Ronald Reagan, who earned the respect and support of an enormous number of Democrats during his presidency. His observation, "the Party left me," has never been more true than today.

For several months, we have heard and observed two presidential candidates, centrist Republican John McCain and liberal Democrat Barack Obama. It should by now, be obvious to all of us who put our country first, which of these candidates possess the high qualities of a statesman, and the prerequisite moral and civic virtues for an American president.

Unfortunately, too many of my fellow Americans have difficulty distinguishing these qualities.

Every four years, at the peak of presidential election cycles, we're told by the talkingheads and the party hacks that "this election is the most important in our lifetimes." This time, however, they may be right. These are indeed perilous times.

Our nation is facing crises on several critical fronts, including an historic economic disaster, the resolution of which will require the steady hand of a statesman in possession of outstanding character — character that has been honed over his lifetime, character that is proven consistent with our nation's legacy of liberty and equality.

That reformed Democrat, Ronald Reagan, wrote, "The character that takes command in moments of crucial choices has already been determined by a thousand other choices made earlier in seemingly unimportant moments. It has been determined by all the 'little' choices of years past — by all those times when the voice of conscience was at war with the voice of temptation, [which was] whispering the lie that 'it really doesn't matter.' It has been determined by all the day-to-day decisions made when life seemed easy and crises seemed far away — the decision that, piece by piece, bit by bit, developed habits of discipline or of laziness; habits of self-sacrifice or self-indulgence; habits of duty and honor and integrity — or dis honor and shame."

For the first and final word on the necessary character traits the next president should possess, let's return to our foundation, our Founders, those who risked all to proclaim our individual rights and responsibilities as ordained by God, and outlined them in our Declaration of Independence and its subordinate exposition, our Republic's Constitution.

Our Founders wrote at length about character, both of those who seek high office (or, rather, those that high office seeks), and those who elect them. Here are but a few excerpts in their own words.

John Adams: "Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom. ... If we suffer [the minds of young people] to grovel and creep in infancy, they will grovel all their lives. ... We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. ... We should be unfaithful to ourselves if we should ever lose sight of the danger to our liberties if anything partial or extraneous should infect the purity of our free, fair, virtuous, and independent elections."
